ESP Registrations for the Fall are still being accepted!
ESP Sites Opening on September 8, 2020 *
Broadview - Required enrollment has been met. Broadview ESP will open!
Rock Creek - Required enrollment has been met. Rock Creek ESP will open!
*Clark Memorial - open until Fall Break to build enrollment, at which time if enrollment does not meet the required 12 daily, Clark Memorial ESP will have to close.
*Decherd - open until Fall Break to build enrollment, at which time if enrollment does not meet the required 12 daily, Decherd ESP will have to close.
*North Lake - open until Fall Break to build enrollment, at which time if enrollment does not meet the required 12 daily, North Lake ESP will have to close.
This ESP site do not come close to the required enrollment of 12 and will not open at this time. It is possible that this site could open in the future but will need at least 9 or 10 new enrollments.
Cowan
In negiotations with the Sewanee University at this time. If an acceptable agreement can be formulated between the University and ESP, this site may be able to open in the very near future.

Virtual Fridays - Important Announcement
To help families with child care ESP is opening early and will be open for the last 5 Virtual Fridays!
ESP will open for Virtual Fridays beginning
Friday, September 4, 2020.

Hours of operation for Virtual Fridays:
Friday, September 4 - 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Friday, September 11 - 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday, September 18 - 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday, September 25 - 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Friday, October 2 - 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
On the Virtual Fridays the FC School Nutrition department will provide free breakfast for all children, will provide lunch with the same stipulations as their regular lunch arrangements (free, reduced, etc.), and will provide an afternoon snack. Children are welcome to bring their own lunch, but please note this when you sign up for one of the Virtual Fridays so a school lunch will not be ordered for them. Please sign up by Tuesday, September 1 as we have to turn in breakfast, lunch, and snack numbers in advance.
If you request your child to be signed up for any of the Virtual Fridays, you will be expected to pay even if your child does not attend. The number ESP staff scheduled to work is based on the number of children signed up to attend each day. And please take into consideration that most of our ESP personnel are also teachers or part of the school's staff and therefore unable to work during the school hours so that may limit the number of children at each site. We are moving ESP staff around to try and accommodate for the number of children registered at each site.
Because these Fridays are Virtual Learning days and counted in attendance, most of the day will be dedicated to completing the class work sent home with each of the children on Thursday.
Parents - On these Virtual Fridays please remember that all children will be expected to bring with them all the necessary materials to complete the assignments they were given on Thursdays. ESP staff will work with the principal at each school to use facilities other than the ESP classroom as more space may be necessary for social distancing. The schedule for Virtual Fridays will include time necessary to complete assignments, restroom breaks, breakfast, lunch, and snack times, pluse some time for movement, activities, and play.

The ESP sites that meet the required enrollment numbers to open will be announced on Wednesday, September 2 as the registration deadline to make this determination is 4:00 PM on Tuesday, Septermber 1.
Please make plans to turn in completed registration forms and $15 registration fee at the your ESP site by Tuesday. September 1 @ 4:00 PM.
The Site Directors will have a registration table set up outside the ESP classroom (weather permitting) at the following schools from 2:30 to 4:00 pm on September 1, 2020 to collect ESP registration forms and fees.

All ESP registration forms and the $15 fee may be sent to the ESP Site Director or the Franklin County Board of Education prior to the September 1 deadline.
LATE REGISTRATIONS FOR ESP:
ESP will take late registrations, but these registrations will not be eligible to start until Tuesday, Sept. 8 and any late registrations will not calculate in the numbers to determine which ESP sites will be opening Sept. 8.

Extended School Program
As always, the priorities are to provide a safe learning environment for all children and staff. District leadership will revisit the reopening plan frequently and regularly communicate any changes that may occur. Flexibility will be important as information related to COVID-19 is constantly changing. Potential short-term and long-term school closure will be based on the level of risk as determined by the district leadership. School closure may also affect ESP's schedule.
And as we have learned in these uncertain and unpredictable times even decisions made with the information available at the time can change in an instant.
